Need Assistance with Hospital Tank

Greetings everyone. After ich meting introduced into my main system I have moved all my inhabitants to the hospital tank. I have treated with prazi and copper.

I believe that the ich is gone. After 8 weeks I removed all meds to have one fish my blue hippo tang display signs of fluks. I did a fresh water dip and seen them drop off and the eye got a little cloudy. I again treated the last 4 weeks with prazi and copper and again everything has been gone and all fish fat and Happy. So two days ago I did a 50% water change added carbon and did another water change today. To ensure all meds are gone.


And today I start noticing on the left cheek of the blue hippo the same presentation.

I am at a loss. I don't think it is ich because the powder blue would be the first to show symptoms.

Got a picture?

As for the powder blue - he could have acquired enough immunity to not show symptoms.
Also of all the tangs I know the hippo is the most likely to show ich.

I am so sorry it is very hard to get a pic. It presents near/just under left eye on the tang. It looks like the head of little worms. White in color and when in the freshwater dip seem to extend and fall of fish. Also I notice the left eye gets a little cloudy on the surface when in the freash water dip. I have brought this fish back from the brink over the last 14 weeks. They dont really look like a pimple but more like a very small cloud. I dont think it is lymphosis as that presents in just one area and I have seen it before. These are a bunch in a small area

Unfortunately this is the best I can get. If you look below the eye towards the mouth you can see about 15 little spots but they look blurry out of the water.

So I am truley at a loss now. I have had these fish in the Hospital tank for aver 12 weeks. I use Copper, Formlin in combination with fresh water dipps. So after 4 weeks of zero symptoms I removed all meds. Fish are fat dumb and happy eating me out of house and home. All fish!

So I stopped the meds and two days later the blue hippo had spots. Started on face now on right side. Also this morning my clown fish is now showing spots. I am not sure what it is. I know the copper and formlin has cleared it up in short order and I am in no way waisting the weeks I have spent by giving up and throwing them back into the fallow display.

Someone please give me an idea. Any thing will help. I started treatment with CP last night. We will see if this works.

You mean the whitish strip below the eye going towards the mouth?
I would say if that's not the normal coloring than it might be beginning HLLE from the copper.
I for sure can't see any ich in the pictures.

How long were the fw dips? I don't think you need CP, in fact I would hault meds, they may be causing unintended problems at this point. If anything I'd try a different de wormer like levamisole -sold online for pigeons.

No not that area. Like i said you cant really see it when I remove them from the watter and I can not get the pic right when it is in the tank.

I will try to get more today.

The FW dips were for 3 minutes each. I could see micro items coming out of the gills when I first did the fresh water dips as well. But I cant get pics of any of this. LOL my point and shoot just isnt cutting it LOL

If the dots are persistent (stay longer than a week) and look under a magnifying glass or microscope like a tiny cauliflower it's very likely Lymphocystis.

Looking at this I am thinking it is still ich. But man I have done two treatments during the 14 weeks. Both times it has come back with no new additions. Like it is live g in the fish. I have followed the directions to perfection.

What reading do you bring it too in the hospital tank.?

OK so I need ideas. After two rounds with this in the hospital tank it comes back within two days of removing meds. I can try copper again. Tank transfer is not an option. What are your thoughts?

I would get a few 10 gallons and try seperating the fish and treat separately. If one of the fish isnt healing and he keeps getting the others sick than he is hindering the whole process.

Sounds. Awesome. I though if ich is in the tank they all still have it. Just some show it more than others?

From your description I don't think this is ich. It sounds more like some kind of worms or copepods.

Is it only on one side of the fish or is it on both? If on both is it symmetric?

Try taking a better picture of it.

Yes each fish should be in a separate tank. An separated from each other with not tools for the tank shared. I always keep a bunch of ten gallon setups so I can move the fish and separate them . I use to run the Fish MASH for my Local club.
