Need design help

I am interested in buying the following package from Marine Depot.

Where can I go to examin these powerheads in person?

I need to know what they are like. I want to hold one so I can examine it. Are they big, small, heavy, light, loud, quiet?

I've heard they are good, but for $700 I need a test drive first.

I have a 4 - sided tank in the middle of a room.

I don't want anything mounted on the walls of the tank. Can I mount the 6000 on the ceiling of the tank and just have the nozzle point down into the tank? I was thinking to get the kit so I could put a powerhead on each side. Can I mount them like that? On the ceiling acrylic pointing down?

Here is the top of my tank.

I'd buy the $70 rock if I can bury it in the sand. Can I bury it in the sand?

Is the backside of the mounting hardware small enough to have in the overflow box, that way I could have the units sitting on my overflow pointing out?

Based on the information I have provided, (images), how can I set these things up? Is there a design that will work for me given that they can't be on the walls of the tank, only the ceiling, sand, or overflow tower.

Im no expert but Im pretty sure you need a Stream to be under water a few inches because of the powerful suction. So mounting it on the top of your tank won't happen. Plus...even if it was possible...those Streams will blow your sand to high hell! Same goes for the rock.

What are the dimensions of your tank? Looks like 4' long, 2' deep and maybe 30" high?

The 6000 Streams weigh 6 lbs, 4lbs of actual pump and 2 lbs of transformer. They are about the size of a Hagen 802, you live in south California, their have to be literally hundreds, if not well over a thousand people using the Streams in that area, I would check with local reef club members to check them out. The Stream rock cannot be buried in the sand, in fact it needs to be propped up on rock well above the sand. The pump needs to be easily accessible for maintanence. You could attach the pumps to the overflow box quite easily with the included hardware. I think they are quiet but I know all to well that is a relative judgement and some people can hear the slightest sound.

THank you. What are the dimensions of the backside of the mounting hardware?

How much space in my overflow box would be taken up by the mounting hardware, and would the flow pattern be practical if I'm blowing water over and away from my rocks instead of across or at them?

It isn't ideal but it would work. The hardware is about 1" wide, it would probably block 2-3 slots on each overflow. I have seen people drill and tap the overflows so they can screw the rail holder in at a lower position and not cover any of the teeth. That looks very professional in my opinion and I like it but you have to be careful not to crack the acrylic.

I just need to know from an expert what I should do? Roger, in your expert judgement, if you owned my tank, what would you do?

1) What power heads would you buy.

2) How many would you buy? I'm looking for 1800-2200 GPH flow. My return does the rest of the flow.

3) Where would you put them?
(with the constraint that I don't want them on the side walls UNLESS it is required to have correct flow current. If you can convince me that the flow needs to come from the side at the far end of the tank, then I can maybe give in to having a unit on the side wall. Keep in mind my top lip is 4-5 inches wide. If you can answer those three questions, I will give your company my money. After I see the product in person of course.

simply put, can he hang something like a 6060 from the euro braced top of the Acrylic tank?

What size is the tank? What kind of corals are you keeping?
