Hey all,

I snagged a really cool wrasse for $55 and it was sold to me as a black fin fairy wrasse but it looks pretty similar to a scott's velvet fairy wrasse, the Fiji variety in specific because it has a green body like a scott's from Fiji would. Can someone help me ID the sucker?

I wanted to know if a lineatus wrasse and my current wrasse will get along in a 75? If it is a scott's velvet I know they can be aggressive so I'm curious on others thoughts.

I've got two wyoming white clownfish that wont seem to host my BTA and I wanted to know if anyone had any ideas on encouraging them to host it.

Pics and video of the fish in question will hopefully be attached to this post.

Pics of the Clown fish and the BTA are just for fun and I'll include a link to a video of my wrasse when he was in QT.

The fish in the video is indeed C. melanomarginatus and not C. scottorum. The long point at the end of erthe tail is the identifier.

Behaviorly it will behave similar to the scott's wrasse, so it can be aggressive towards any fairy and flasher wrasse.

Some clowns, particularly tank bred specimens nay not host.

With the clowns, I say give it some time.

My clowns have been taken away from their GBTAs for a while, when I intro'ed them again in December it took a week or so for them to familiarize themselves with the nems, whereas before they were inseparable. Then ich was in my tank, now after 10 long weeks, I put them back in their home. They won't even look at the nems, but they're inching closer and closer, so I think they'll realize it's home and will host again. The larger of the two clowns is definitely hovering more above them now.

Just hasn't done the face rubbing into the new yet. :)

Any idea on how a wrasse like a mystery wrasse would get along with the black fin fairy? I dont believe a mystery wrasse is a type of flasher or fairy wrasse

BTAs are not the natural hosts of perculas or ocellaris. So assuming Wyoming Whites are perch, may take the clowns longer to recognize it as a host. My ocellaris took about a year, but finally figured it out. By the way, their captive bred status has no bearing on whether or when they associate with the anemone - that's a bit of a myth.
