Help me stock my tank.i have a 75 mixed reef,20 fuge with macro pods.dt is bare bottom with 75lb LR, with a net on top of dt.

Currently have yt, yt damsel (not aggressive), cherub angel, clam,f.duster, cucs, mixed corals.

Need reef safe colorful fishes...prefer neon /bright colors.
Don't need blue, yellow.want purple etc....
Also recommend a hardy colorful pipefish.

Firs of all the Damsel, and the Cherub will most likely get aggressive. I would add some wrasses, just be careful because some will burring in the sand. A harem of Lyretail would be nice.

I have to disagree. I've never seen or heard of an aggressive cherub pygmy angel. As for yellow-tail damsels - they're generally quite docile. They will defend an established territory, but aren't going to be chasing and attacking other fish all over the tank.

To the OP - I wouldn't put more than 3 lyretail anthias in a 75g if there are going to be other fish. They need a lot of swimming room and don't always shoal up in smaller tanks. Best to get only one male and several females.

I do agree that you may want to consider some of the flasher and faerie/fairy wrasses. Blennies have lots of personality, but may not be as colorful as you'd like. Pipefish are very difficult to care for. Many will not take prepared foods and will starve unless the tank has a continuous and thriving population of 'pods with little competition and passive tank-mates.

Mine is bb tank.
Do flasher fairy wrasse need sand.i will add mandarin in future will they compete for pods.....

My 20 fuge is tee ming with numerous pods....thx

Hi. I think it would be more productive to read more on the board. Then you can ask more targeted questions. This is a bit all over the map. Perhaps a must have fish you could build your stock list around.

You should not get a pipefish if you plan to get a mandarin fish. They both need pods big time and the two will compete and deplete the population in a smaller tank. One or the other would be a challenge IME in a tank less than 100 g with lots of rock but, it is doable.

I have heard about aggressive Cherub angels!

Did you upgrade from a 55 to a 75? Cause it says 55 in your sig.

The pipefish would do better in more of a species tank.

Fairy wrasses don't need sand. They sleep in the rock and make their mucus ball at night. There are many that are downright gorgeous!

The orchid dottyback may be a good choice. Bright purple. They can be secretive, but they are beautiful.

Our cherub pygmy angel got very aggressive. We added a wrasse a few months after the angel and it almost killed it in the first 5 minutes. It also nearly killed a royal gramma and clown. We moved it to another tank for a few months and added it back as the last fish and then it was fine.

Any other fish u can suggest?

Which of the fairy flasher wrasse is hardy, multicolorful ,reef /invert safe?

Thanks

fairy and flashers are reef safe. Did you look at that link I gave you for the fairies?

and the flashers

Yes,i did, thanks....

Are both terms used for same kind, ie fairy /flasher....? Its confusing.

Plus analyzing scientific name and finding name in trade is confusing.
