Yesterday I received my golden rhomboid wrasse from a collector in hawaii.
I drop acclimated the fish for about and hour and thirty minutes. It never really moved much then, was always just sitting on the bottom of the bucket.

After I put it in the display(no, I dont have a QT and I'm aware of that) it swam behind a rock and hid leaning against it. I noticed that it had some kind of mouth injury but then didnt worry much.
Nothing bothered it at all and today its still not swimming, just lying/leaning against another rock(it supposedly swam there)
It's breathing looks fine and I'm just worried that it'll die... will it?
Is there anything I can do?

This is not uncommon for wrasses when first introduced to a new environment. Give it a couple of days. They are skittish at first. Fairy wrasses I've kept do the same thing and if the fish is not being bothered by anything, it should start to come out and explore soon.

One of my lineatus wrasses hid for three days. It went into a rock crevice and all you could see as a sign of life was the eyes moving around every so often. One day it just swam out and all was well since. Keep an eye on it for signs of distress, but other than that let it come out on it's own. Hopefully all is okay.

I hadn't heard of this wrasse before so I looked him up.... sweet looking fish but expensive!! Hope he comes around for you.

The thing that worries me most is that its lower jaw seems messed up! It also seems to have a bump on the side of its head. also has white spots around its mouth(only around its mouth)
Could it be some type of parasite?

any chance you could post a picture? What do you mean by "messed up?" Does it look like a possible injury in transit? Maybe it got knocked around?

Has it eaten at all?

oh god:( I just found it sucked up to the side of my karolia(4). I turned the pump of and it swam around really stiff and now is inside the karolia(its still off).
I dont think it'll make it

Nope, I don't think so either. What a bummer. I had a cute little (dime sized) yellow belly tang in a QT that I found sucked into a powerhead intake after it did really well fo the first several days. It's sad when these things happen.

Sorry, Nelson. Maybe the Hawaii guy will help you out since it didn't live very long.
