Need help calculating Sump size

I am beginning planning out an "In wall" tank build and I was wondering if anyone new of a calculation to determine the amount of water that drains from the tank when the return in off?

I am looking to setup a 360 G display tank (96L * 36W * 24H).

I want to be able to do about a 70 G water change without having to shut off the returns.

Or if you're not always at the computer, all dimensions in inches...

Volume (gallons) = Length * Width * Height / 231

As for the water change idea, why not have a bare 75 gallon tank plumbed in to your return manifold (assuming you're doing this) that is just extra water volume. When you want to do a water change, valve off the 75g tank, drain it, fill with SW, valve on, done. There are numerous folks who have done this here, though I cannot give you any specific threads/people.

that's exactly the way I do it, very simple and works great

If I end up having enough room for an extra 75G tank I will definitely do that as it sounds like an easy way to do water changes!
 
I wish I had thought of that extra tank idea. I used a 55g tank for my sump and can't do a 10g water change with out shutting pumps off =(

I supose I could still do it but it would be as clean as drilling the sump would have been.
