Need help identifying my clown fishes. True percula x ocellaris

Good night, folks!

just got my boyu tl450 for my firts marine tank and it's been on for 45 days.

today i've got two clown fishs as a gift, but i'm not sure if they are true perculas.

can someone please help me identifying?

It looks like the true perc clowns that I have. If you could count the dorsal spines that would tell you. Good luck trying to do that though.

The eyes say ocellaris. Perculas have a distinct yellow/orange ring around the iris, that's the quickest way to tell, especially in younger fish that don't have the black bars developed and he fins are too small to count.
 
what about the 100% orange dorsal fin?
isnt that exclusive for perculas?

I've never heard that, but I did look at old pics and my percs before and now are orange, and the ocellaris are black lined.

They look like ocellaris from the eyes to me also. Pictures can be deceiving sometimes, but once you see both it's pretty easy to tell the difference in person.
 
Definitely Ocellaris. He looks just like my 2 month olds do. They do not develop the black in the dorsal fin until later. Here's a shot of my grow out tank, these are all A. Ocellaris.
