need help identifying these

yeah 102.4 kb is a tiny amount of data, this is an old website, try linking photobucket or an equivalent, most cell cameras these days use waaaaay more than 102.4kb per picture.

no I had those years ago in my old tank these are brown I found a pic that matches what I have. i Googled brown cocoons in aquarium and the picture that matches is from a site called ********* they were having trouble diagnosing as well. someone said snail poo but I don't have snails. someone said fly larva but it's winter here I haven't seen a fly for 6 monthes also the life cycle of fly larva is very short so that rules out it coming on the rock as I've had tank running for about 6 weeks and today was the first day I've seen them. still cofused if anyone wants to see the pic just Google brown cucoons in aquarium and its like the 10th pic ********* site link will take you to the thread and there is a pic with the lights on as the first pic is really dark

I’m pretty sure I found the pic you’re talking about. My guess is some sort of external bug as well. I’ve never seen anything like that and the site you speak of has an exterminator weighing in. Check above the filter sock to see if any are attached inside of your stand or maybe above the tank itself. Some may have fallen into the tank and dissapeared down anfish as well. I had a fishing spider get into my sump once. Some cheato flowed over the wall and I reached in to grab it. I didn’t realize it was in there until the cheato started crawling up my arm. That spiders leg span went all the way across a plastic sandwich container.

wow that's crazy no spiders in my house though and there is def. none coming in from outside I have a few in a 5 gal pail, it's fresh water but shouldn't matter though if it's a local prob I'm doubtful of this theory but I'm determined to figure this out and I appreciate the time you spent googling this for me stand by for results...

My guess is a competitor issue.

Yes, they got put into the profanity filter by shamelessly promoting their site here after being asked to stop. Last choice of management, but really no other choice when they wouldn't stop. :(

I tried *that site* a few yrs back - for several reasons, it put me off reef forums in general.

I'm having a MUCH better experience here, so **THANK YOU** everyone!!!
