need help on getting rid of coraline algae on glass

Hi I have a 36 gal. bowfront corner tank. It is an All Glass Aquarium. I have a lot of pink coraline algae on the bottom of the front curved glass. It is hard to get to with a razor blade and my magfloat isnt doing the job. Is there a maget cleaner that will easily scrape away this algae? Would the Phirana be a good choice? I would like to get one that is not to thick because some of my rockwork is rather close to the glass. Thanks.

use the green brillo pads used for kitchen dishes. Works great and won't scratch your glass.

would the Kent pro scraper work ok on a curved glass like mine? Also what would be the best magnet cleaner if I went that route?

No, and don't think they make one for curved glass.

Why the roll of the eyes?? Im being serious my turbos cleared my glass of coraline. Maybe it was because I had 100 in a 46 bow. None the less they did the job.

I have a 240g sump with 15 turbo's and the whole sump is covered top to bottom with coraline. I have over 40 turbo's in my 225g tank and its covered top to bottom with coraline. You must of had super turbos or something. the reason for the roll of the eyes because that was what I was doing when I read that. Sorry.

Can anyone back up PhatCam claim?

I have turbo snails that eat coraline. they don't eat enough to keep the glass clear but they like to munch on it from time to time.

Yea, it might be just because I have 100 in a 46g. Bit extreme but I like my tank being clean without me having to do the work.

Green brillow pads are the only thing that works. There is nothing made out there for a bow front, that you can use without getting your hands/arms wet.

I agree i have never heard of turbo's eating coraline, it is kind of funny when you think about it.

oceans motions makes a glue on razor blade holder that attaches to your magnet and is adjusatble .if you use it with strokes going horizontal with the bow instead of verticle it should work n a bow frnt fine.

I use the Kent scraper. It isn't great on the curved glass, but it'll work. Just put a little extra pressure towards one end of the scraper. It is a little more tedius, but if you keep up with the coraline (I scrape about once a week), it shouldn't take you more than a couple minutes to get it clean. I've also used a razor blade, which works very well if you go horizontally with it, but the Kent scraper still seems a bit faster.

Oh, yeah, urchins are great at taking out coraline, but mine loves to hang out on the back glass where I actually want the coraline to grow. Fortunately, the coraline still seems to be winning the race.

I second a credit card... I take all the fake ones they send me every month and put them to use on my glass tanks...

I use a Kent pro scraper on my acrylic tank though and it works well

and how come I got wimpy turbo snails... Mine won't take the coraline off of anything
