I don't know much about camera especially DSLR. The only camera i have is the Sony cybershot. Now i want to step up into the Nikon SLR and i want something easy to use and good for Macro shot. I know the lens is the most important as far as Macro shot. But i am torn between the Nikon D40x refurbish, D60 and D80. All 3 has 10.2 MP but the rest i have no clue... Can someone please recommend which camera is good for newbie.

thanks
Steve

If you looking to buy one of those 3 cameras I would get the D80. The D40X & D60 have the same 10.2MP but the motors are built into the lenses. You can use any nikon lens with the D80 since the motor is in the body not the lens.. I have a D80 its a great camera. If you have the $$ and want to keep you camera for awhile pick up a D300 you can't go wrong.

Thank you SDfishman, i will get the D80 but the D300 is way over my head. It has so many option that i don't know how to use... :D

yeah..... it's usually the D40 or D80, the D40x and D60 price wise.... you can get a D80 already.

go for a canon bro.

and yes, if your going into DSLR, it really doesnt matter what body camera you have, since it all matters about the lens. if you do it right, you'll spend more money on lens than you do on the body. good luck

Yup, i totally agree :D. My wife just order the D40 bundle for me which cost around $440. I went and order the Nikkor 105mm f/2.8G ED IF AF-S VR for $899 Ouch..... But i heard good thing about this lens. If anyone own the lens please share some picture and your experience with it.

Thanks
Steve
