Hi,

I recently acquired a RBTA the other day and it doesn't seem to be doing to good. The mouth of the anemone seems white/puffy. I read that when it starts to turn inside out it's dying but I;m not sure to classify this as it turning inside out. I really hope not because I just got him and really like him. Please help! Any input is much appreciated!

Thanks!

The color is good as in not bleached. If you just put it in your tank it will take a week or so for it to acclimate fully to your tank's parameters. I also wouldn't feed it for a few weeks as digestion is a hard thing on them.

Give it time I think you will be fine.

They don't need to eat at all due to the zooxanthellae in them and they gain growth and nourishment from lighting.

They also once acclimated to your tank can be fed. Never silversides as there have been several horror stories about feeding them just Google it.

I feed mine small pieces of shrimp that I buy for human consumption, just buy raw shrimp whole with shell. However peel the shell off before feeding your nem. The digestion process is hard on the nems and when you see it you'll think yours is dying.
