I agree. Looks like a baby from an orange osci and a black osci. They come out kind of mud colored. I think they are cool! Congrats.

These Dont look like photons. If they had ocelarious in them they would have there full bars at this size. They look like young onyx perc's to me.

they are less than half of an inch. they are very small. probably only a few months old. i thought because of how young they are that's why they do not have there tail stripe yet? when i purchased them in the store there was 4 in total. 2 of the clownfish had only one stripe. and the 2 that i bought were the only ones that had two stripes. so i am guessing the ones i purchased were older. but def one of the clownfish is darker than the other one. but the store had them all under tank raised ocelaris clownfish

Perculas I say. The mid body stripe's shape and the coloring behind it make me think that. I think they're both true percs.

I wouldn't put much stock into an LFS actually correctly identifying between either percula or ocellaris. I would argue that most places goof it up. Innocent mistake, they're tough to ID. To further expand on what Mitch said, a hybrid between ocellaris and percula (and the perc would have to be an Onyx to see the coloration you are seeing) is not very common, and is called a Photon - I believe used to be bred by Sanjay until his female died. Ignoring for a minute the black pigmentation, Ocellaris get their stripes very early on, while Perculas have to "grow in" to their second and especially third stripes. Based on this fact alone lends itself to a Percula ID.

Now, irrespective of all that ID stuff, I'd bet that they are going to be some really great looking clownfish as they fully mature into their colors!

great explanation. i am very informed now. i can't wait until they grow to fully mature so i can see how they are going to turn out to look

I say a hybrid between regular percula, and a occalaris. I have seen some just like that from someone who breeds them here in San Diego.
