Need Help With Aquarium Fish Tank

Depends on what you're trying to accomplish with small tanks like these? Reef Tank? FISH ONLY? Freshwater?

Saltwater you have not many options for fish 2 clowns not the big ones like tomato; Firefish; Goby; Chromis those on top of my head

Saltwater you can do something like 2 clowns and Firefish that is all..

look at this one:

Add heater

You of course will need salt Instant Ocean if Fish Only and Refractometer plus a heater to check salt levels plus test kits at least basic for starters like Ammonia, Nitrate, Nitrite..

Yes what do they want? Corals? Fish only? Something else?.. Nothing?. Saltwater isnt something you randomly give...People need to want to put in the work for saltwater..

A smaller tank while cheaper to get started isnt a set it up and forget it thing...it requires frequent maintenance

Suggest for something like this you give a very nice card with a gift certificate and let her do her selection in consultation with your local fish store, who can guide her to something that will succeed. A fifteen gallon can work in saltwater, but a 30 all-in-one is more apt to work well for a beginner. A 15 gallon freshwater tank is much more doable, with much less equipment and much less expense.

Read the last sticky about starting a new tank by Waterkeeper on the main forum page, it explains everything involved............be prepared for a long read, a lot is involved. If its not a labor of love it will become a stressful pita especially for the 1st yr. and if you are considering corals down the rd.
