My clownfish just laid eggs and I was wondering if there are any products that I can feed the that are sold in my LFS. I would like to culture my own eventually but don't have a system set up yet. Would DT's work? Or any of seachems coral foods? Just need something to get me through this c'est batch so cost isn't important

There is lots of information out there. You'll probably have to get live rotifers. You may be able to buy a large batch and feed them to the fry. You can get some phyto feast and keep a culture going too. Read up, there are some better sites dedicated to breeding than RC.

If I remember right you should be able to buy some live rotifers from reeds. I would quickly educate myself on what type of setup is needed for the rots and set it up. Then overnight yourself a fair amount of rots. Most people have started this process and have a sufficient amount of rots and can harvest their culture. You dont have the luxury of harvesting rots from a sizable culture. Some lfs will sell live rots in a bottle. But the amount we are talking about is small. I would set up a small vessel/tank and start culturing rots. The longer you wait the lower your success rate will be because of the situation your in. if this is too much for you right now, just let the batch go. Its not the end of the world if the batch just hatches and becomes food for other tank inhabitants. Maybe its a better scenario for you to let it go until your ready. If they are breeding, chances are they will do it again. Depending on your parent feeding schedule, this clutch might not be very good from the get go. Its also common for the first couple of clutches to be duds. This is not from personal experience but from a lot of research. So take it how ever you want and try to make an educated decision for yourself and what will work for you.

Occasionally someone reports getting a couple of larvae to survive on frozen rots or very finely crushed dry food. However, it's rare and it's never more than just a couple of survivors. Best thing to do is let this first batch go, get some cultures going now and get ready to raise the second batch ;)
