Need help with CPR continuous siphon overflow, power outages

I currently have the little air hose on the top of the overflow connected to my MJ900 to provide the siphon. The problem is that water will continue to siphon out of the PH nozzle when the power is shut off. I've tried putting a small siphon break in the hose but the suction is reduced enough that the overflow doesn't work. If I use the aqua lifter pump, will it still siphon out of the tank when the power is turned off? I am worrired that if I loose power that I will come home to a small flood. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

if i'm inderstanding right , i have a cpr overflow as well, i have the pump that sits on the top that sucks air in all the time, when the power goes out it does not loose the suction, but you have to have a hole in your return line just below the water line to stop the water from filling your sump, when the power comes back on the pump will start the suction back in the cpr,
i,ve done a power outage trial and works great!
hope this help.

for now, use the air pump and mount it higher than your tank level so if power is off it can't siphon downwards.

get a u-tube siphon like one from lifereef. the cpr is garbage.

better yet drill your tank.

Sounds like getting the aqua lifter pump is better than using a power head for the suction. I'll order one up and see how it goes. Thanks for the help.
