Need help with ID

I just picked this price up at LFS and for half off because I noticed some tissue loss.

I dipped it and hoping for the best. Any suggestions wether to frag it from the dead spots?

Keep a close eye on it. If the necrosis continues (even a tiny bit) I would frag it far enough away from the dying part. Glue it to a rock or something and put it in a spot with good water flow.

Yes you should dip it. Make sure you follow the directions on whatever dip you are using. Too much Iodine for example will kill it faster then the STN!

I like to use bone shears to cut most branching SPS. You can also use a Dremel tool, band saw, or tile saw.
