Quick background... 72 gallon tank I set up 3-4 months ago. Cycled with live rock and a couple mollies acclimated to full salt. Also added three small hermit crabs about a month ago.
A few weeks ago, I introduced the first fish (aside from the mollies) "” a domino damsel and spotcinctus clown. Well, after a few days I noticed a very small red spot on the clown's bottom lip. Since then it has not gone away and has gotten a little more noticeable. (Impossible for me to get a good picture since the fish won't sit still and furiously begs for food any time I get near the tank.) I'm assuming this is a bacterial infection.
All fish, including the clown, are behaving and eating normally, and no other fish are showing any signs of disease or distress. Seeing as these weee the first real introductions I did not utilize a QT. So, what are my options for treating this without destroying my biological filtration, and also the hermits? Could soaking food in garlic and lots of water changes allow the fish to overcome this naturally? All water parameters are fine and as I said, they are eating and behaving normally.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
