help I need help with my diamond watchman goby. The bottom of his jaw was turning black and now when you look into his gills from the back they are pitch black. One is a little swollen and looks like a bubble that could be popped is coming out of it and its also black in color. Is this a tumor or something that has just developed over time filtering the substrate. It started on the bottom of his jaw getting blacker and blacker over the period of about six months. Is it irritated and in need of treatment or something a cleaner shrimp/wrasse can fix. HELP he isn't acting any different, still sifting the sand and eating. nothing else in the reef is acting different or seems to have been affected, but someone i know told me he tried this species of fish twice and this happened both times with his. one of his went from eating to sudden death the other went from eating to jumping out of the tank. seems common enough that someone might have an answer but i havent been that lucky. I am already soaking food in garlic

anyone

A pic would help. Also, post this in the Fish Disease forum you may get more help there as well.

BTW, these fish are notorious for starving and jumping for many owners.

thank you someone is out there he eats just about everything and seems pretty content but I could see where that can happen. Ill try to get some pics posted have to figure it out

Robert - When you get your picture also post it on www.wetwebmedia.com You'll also get some expert advice there as well. Some well respected and well known expert reefers there to help you...but you'll need a picture of the wound.

if there the same as diamond gobies mine eats fine as well. If hes not sifting the sand he's eating like the rest of the fish when I feed them.
