Need help with Reef Keeper Lite.

I posted on Digital Aquatics site but didn't receive a response yet. So I'm wondering if anyone RKL users here can help.

My new RKL head unit came with firmware 1.03. The firmware is now at 1.11. My question is on updating the head unit. I found the firmware updating instructions but they are for the Reef Keeper Elite. Are they the same instructions used for the Reef Keeper Lite?

Also what is everyone using there RKL's to run? I know lights, Fans, and heater. But is there more they run? Finally just took mine out of the box

I answered my own question LOL. Seems they are the same after all just have to make sure your choosing the correct module.

In addition to the things you run I also run a float switch, skimmer and return pump. I use the float switch connected to my ACJr to turn on/off my topoff pump. I have my skimmer and return pump connected so they shut off while using the feeding mode. I turn off the return so most of the food stays in the tank and not the sump. I turn the skimmer off so it doesn't go crazy when I throw food in, plus the increased water height in the sump from turning off the return would make it go crazy as well. :D

Mike return pump?

Talon what a great idea. I wouldn't even begin to know how to program all that.... More reading I guess...

Glad to hear you got things running. I'm not sold on the version 2 firmware yet. The product is great, though there are still some quirks from reading on the DA site.

I have every aspect of the system on the reefkeeper. the standby's are great - I have it set to turn on the return pump and wait 1 minute before starting up the powerheads and the skimmer. All the lights are controlled along with the ATO system.

It's a very capable device - nicest part is I can leave for the weekend and maintain some peace of mind :)

I don't have the RK, but a controller is the best piece of mind one can get. I have the AT full setup with dosing pump, ethernet module, heck... everything. There's nothing like getting an SMS or Email, telling you that your salinity has changed. When I got home, a towell has fallen into the tank and the "wicking" action was removing saltwater while my ATO was replacing it with fresh!
