Hey guys! Me again with yet another thread on me needing help on quarantining a fish. So far i'm 0/1 with one returned fish. Right now I have a terminal male solorensis wrasse in a 10 gallon quarantine. Paramaters are good.
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 20
(Tank was cycled with bio spira before and left fallow for three weeks)
Temperature: 78-82 F
Salinity: 1.018
Additional params can be supplied if you need it!!
Heres the story:
I got the wrasse on Nov 21 almost two weeks ago. He has done great so far, chowing down on PE mysis, and Hikari mysis. However for the last two days, hes been hiding. A lot. Yesterday he came out to eat but today he didn't move. I know hes alive since his eyes are moving and hes breathing. When I go near to look at him he starts breathing hard but oxygenation shouldn't be a problem as the hob filter is falling a good 3" and there is an airstone inside. I am testing for ammonia every other day and there is an ammonia badge in the qt also. HOB filter has a full tray of seachem matrix as well as two pieces of dry rock in the tank and three pvc pipes. As far as I can see he has no diseases on him, although he seems to be scratching on the rocks so maybe flukes? I have prazi on hand. I will be attaching pics in the next post.
Any help would be awesome!!!
Also acclimated with matching salinity to source and floated to equalize temps.
