You cant slide tank back either?

i had to cut my wall the other day to take out the foam so I can. The issue is my fish room is pretty small. I could do it but heres the issue with that. I could take the tank off and put shims under the plywood where it is low. Then I would have to put the tank back on to see if it is shimmed right. If not, back off and repeat the process again and again until it is right. Its just my fish room would make it an issue. It could be done though.

6 foot level or straight edge.

Is plywood screwed? Glued?

If so you would need to get Sawzall between joist and ply (can be done)

it is just screwed. I'm not sure how long the sawzall blades are though. If you look at the pic. I posted the ply wood overhangs the stand to hold the plumbing in place. If I could get a blade long enough I could try. I'll have to go find one at lowes because I don't own one

You can pluge cut between the ply and joist from underneath without such a long blade.

If it isn't glued you wont need sawzall.

its not glued but I thought maybe if I cut the screws that are there I could jam some shims under the ply without removing the tank. You know what I mean. So that I don't have to try to take the tank off the stand

You could do it that way but if you get to much shim in the middle than you have the same problem (or worse)

I would really think abot sliding it back most of the way so you can get straight edge on stand.

does it have a gap in the front as well ? if not can you get a floor jack under that section of stand jack it up till its flush and try to get some kind of support under it.. the big question is why is it bowing in the first place ?was it beacause that 2x?? is bowed and the plywood just followed suit ?

the problem with this is that the corner legs are screwd and glued together. I'm not sure that a 2x4 brace in the middle will push the 2x8 up in the middle causing the plywood to be level. you know what I mean

it may be a lot of work, but the peace of mind will be worth it! I had a 6 foot 185 gallon on a stand that started to sag in the center, after being set up for 4 years...it caused stress cracks in the glass! no break, just a lot of sleepless nights. took whole tank down replaced with new stand and new tank. do it right the first time and you will enjoy for years to come.

I am not say I won't put a brace in the middle. I'm just saying that I doubt I'd be able to push up the middle of the 2x8 to take out the sag. I measured the silly thing in a bunch of spots but can't tell if it's warped or what.

Actually pretty good idea, if you cut up into it, then jack it up you could glue and screw a 3/4'" plywood rip to the face.good as new

I'm sure that 2x8 will give a little your not really talkin bout that much of a gap. You might as well face it there is no simple fix. it is gonna take some effort to fix this properly. And in the long run the Little bit of effort this is gonna take is tiny compared to the mess you may wind up having to clean up. I'm sure there are some fellow local reefers that would be happy to come help ya. Good luck
