Hey Guys,
i wanna try and get a carpet anemone and was wondering the best foods to feed them and how often as well as how much?
all info is greatly appreciated.

In general, I prefer to feed them fish based meals supplemented with the smaller shrimp and what they catch while feeding the fish.

The details vary with the target carpet species.

Cut Lancefish(Gamma Foods) when I can get them, then Silversides.
Uncooked, mysis(PE brand large size).

i am looking to get a Red Carpet, not sure on the specific species name.
How often do you feed your carpet?

Hey I feed my carpet the follwoing: once a week two large silvesides, if in the house a raw shrimp. Also, have feed them small cuts of raw fish like Cod, etc. Has been doing great for 3+ years, with no moving about.

well in that case i dont; really have any expensive fish so i am ok and i just placed the carpet in the tank yesterday and so far so good, Is a Red Carpet by the way.

I feed mine (Haddoni) silversides, 2-3 of them, about every 3 weeks or so. I think I should feed it more often, but truth be told, I am lazy. :) But, I've had it for about 6 years now, so got to be doing something right. :)

great to hear Todd!! how big is yoru carpet? and how big are the silversides that you feed?
I fead it some mysis shrimp today and it took most of them, some got carried by the current.

I would say it is at least a foot across. The silversides are 2, maybe 3 inches.

Here is an older picture of it (about 4 months ago) I now have it in my 75g. The 75 have 6 * 65 watts of PC, where as the old tank (58g) had 2 *175 MH, I like its color better now, getting some green tint to it. I will try to get a up to date picture of it, but for now....

Hey guys, I just got a gigantea today with a hosted clown and so far everything is great. The guy at the LFS assured me that most fish would be smart enough to stay away from it, but after researching alittle bit I've heard some horror stories about some other types of carpets eating fish. Is the same true of giganteas? and is there anything I can do to reduce the likelyhood of an accident?

Thanks
