Need ozonizer, and info ( enaly )

Well, my used GenX ozonizer finally crapped out on me. It was a 200 mg/hr unit. With an airdryer hooker up to it, it only needed to be on for about 20 minutes per hour to keep my ORP around 400. I borrowed a 50mg/hr (old style) Sander unit. With the same airdryer hooked up to it, it only keeps my ORP at about 360 MAX, and that's with it going 24/7. Of course, this makes the airdryer only last a few days. Without the airdryer charged, the unit only keeps the ORP at about 310.

So, I need a new ozonizer, and obviously 50 mg/hr won't cut it. While the sanders units are nice...ouch on the price! :o My cheapo GenX did the job just fine. So I was looking at the enaly units. Looks like you pretty much have to order them directly from China.

I want the OZAC 200 since I already have the dryer and ORP controller.

But their store (shop.enaly) only carries the plus versions:

Then I found this on EBAY:

Comments? Sugegstions?

While I'm a firm believer of "you get what you pay for", etc etc do you have any opinions on your reasoning for recommending a pricier ozonizer? It's not like there is a huge power draw, so I'm thinking efficiency isn't a huge deal. There isn't "quality" to ozone. It's either ozone, or it's not. Other reasons?

I just know that between my Red Sea 200 and the ozotech 100 the ozotech seemed to produce more ozone even without a dryer connected. I should have just bought the Ozotech then. The only reason I opted for the Red Sea was for the controller that I don't even use. The way I look at it is the Ozotech units are commercial grade construction and performance compared to the other ozone units I have seen. Some of them like the genx I would never even plug inside my house for safety reasons.

Yeah, the GenX looked like the inside of a plasma globe at one point :eek2: Horrible wired connections....

Well, after nothing but good reviews from several PM inquiries, I went with the enaly unit.

Be careful with the cheap ozone unit. I saw a thread a couple of weeks ago where someone ordered a cheap unit like the above from ebay, it was made in China but I don't remember the brand, just that it was way cheap like $40 but had great stats. The problem was that it was listed as having variable output from really low to really very high. Well, the poster opened up the unit and found that the variable dial isn't even wired, which means that it's ALWAYS running at the very high output level.

Sounds like the GenX one I had...dial was connected to nothing.

The unit I bought is fixed output. I have a controller and an AC Jr, so I can either set it for time intervals (my preferred method) or have it controlled by the ORP.

But thanks for the info :)

Which Enaly did you end up getting? Please post your opinions of the unit and how it compares to your GenX.

I got the 300Y, basically the most base model, no frills, no air dryer, no airpump, etc etc, since I already have everything, and just needed to swap out the actual ozonizer.

For more info, what happened with my GenX was this:

I became plugged with what I think must be dust:

I removed the reaction chamber to clean it out. The wiring was pretty bad, and the connection broke off, with nothing remaining to reattach to.

Otherwise, the GenX worked fine until that point. I'm still confused about the clogging issue though. The whole setup is in a closet, so very little dust gets in the area....
