Need simple plan for sump

Although I've read several different designs for a diy sump, and viewed several pics of them, I'm still a little unclear on the exact bare-bones material needed for making a simple sump that includes a skimmer, and can connect somehow to a canister filter...all will be housed under the tank in the stand, and the tank is 55 gallon and not drilled....

Any links or helpful information to point me in the right direction is GREATLY appreciated...and I've already seen the design on Reefcentral's DIY page....

you can go on ebay and buy the internal components from a guy on ebay for $39. All you need is a tank.
