Need some advice on extra flow

Hi all,

I have converted my solana 34g into an SPS frag tank. Currently I have an MP10, and I'd like to add some more flow.

I need to do this on a budget though until I can afford another mp10. So for around another 1000gph......

2 mj400s (in circulation mode) facing each other
koralia 3 pointed diagonally across the tank
other idea?

Thanks in advance.

Have you considered changing out the pump for the filtration? Might help you get some extra flow. I would imagine you have plenty with the mp10 and the other two mj400. Another idea might be to change out a mj400 for a mj600 if you are on a budget.

I have a rio 1400 choked down a little for the return. I am running the return as high as the overflow will allow.

The mp10 does provide good flow, but I want more. So the Mp10 can do up to around 1600 when maxed out, but really excels when varying its flow.

For SPS I am looking at least 50x display volume, which I am guessing is about 28gallons. So that equals 1400. My idea is to get around 1000gph baseline, and then use the mp10 to provide the extra variable flow.

Two maxijet 400s pointed at each other should push around 1000gph. [The 600's would push 750 each, and I think that would spill out the tank]. A K3 pushes around 700. Not sure which is the better option.

I believe the new koralia's are adjustable aren't they? But they are a little bigger too & of course a little more $. Vortech's are sweet!
