As some of you may know, this weekend my tank crashed ( faulty heater). Only my Pomacentrid fish survived. My YT damsel & False perc.
Well, I may soon get my Flame Angel or whatever.
Actually, I just would like to here some advice on recovery & restocking from those who have survived this kind of thing..

First get several smaller heaters!! If one craters at least you still get some heat.
Been there myself but luckily we caught it in time. I now have four 100 watt of different styles and brands. Heaters on e-bay are dirt cheep.

Ack!! Bad season for tank crashes. Sorry bud. The only thing that lifted my spirits was to stabilize the tank, and do something. I bought a few small fish, and a few corals. It rekindled my spirits.

Very sorry to hear that. Back in Sep '07 I lost just about everything during a move that was supposedly 4-6 hours which turned into almost the whole day. By the time I went to acclimate the buckets of fish most were on their last breath. Three weeks later I jumped right back into restocking for a new tank and ordered 6 FAs, PBT and juvie Emperor. A month later I got a pair of Semilarvatus and a juvie BF. Never looked back since and added more and more over time. In the first 6-9 months during each restocking I gradually added more live rocks to balance the system and after almost 2 years I'm now slowly removing some rocks to have more open space but added/upgraded other equipments to compensate.

Good luck with your restocking.

Kevin
