Need some help quick

Huhhhhh

My pump to the 125 is going bad and I need a temp until a new one gets here. I don't know if it will even be working when I get home. Last night it sounded like a car sliding down a guard rail it was squeeling so bad.

It a Little Giant 4-MDQX-SC 1225 GPH 1 inch in 1 inch out.

I'm looking for something close to this.

I will come pick up if you have something.

Thanks Tim

sweet, I'll have to go buy some plumbing for that but you are on top of my list. I'll wait to see what else becomes available buy the end of my work day and let you know.

Thanks Russ

Tim

I have a Dart you can borrow. Its 2" in 1 1/2 out though.

Can you neck the output down to 1 inch. I'll need to do that to hook it up to my manifold that directs the water three different ways.

get a reducer that glues into a 1 1/2" fitting to neck it down, that is what I did.

That is what I'll do I just wanted to know if it would hurt the pump to neck it down that much.

not at all, causes a little increase in pressure but it will run fine
How abou the inlet, can you neck that down. I have a 1 inch bulkhead to go through. If I can't neck the inlet down I'll go up and over the top of the sump.

yep, neck down the inlet, it will be fine.
Do you think it will capaivate and draw in bubbles necking it down that much. I think I'll go over the top of the skimmer any ways but was just wondering.

I have a little Giant....... at least I think that's what it is.... I can't be certain until I get home about 5:30...... call me around that time. 531-0841.

I got the screaming giant out and the Dart in that Russ lent me.

Here ar a couple pics.

The Dart next to the screaming giant.

The inlet had to go over the top because the bulkhead for the Little Giant was only 1 inch

Nice temp job, is it blowing any bubbles out? sometimes with an inlet going up and over you get some cavitation from air trapped at the top of the loop. If so you can shut off the pump and let the water from the tank push backwards to rid the bubbles at the high point provided you dont have a check valve.
