I ordered this Regal on 2-2 and received her on 2-7.

As typical with Regals, I'm having a hard time getting her on Prepared foods...

I was hoping that you would be able to tell me if she ate for you and even better yet, what exactly you had her eating?

When the box arrived her bag was pretty cold. (you remember the nasty cold spell, deliveries were delayed 1 day)
She was pretty stressed to say the least. So I didnt mess with her much the first 2 days. Its now day 5...

I have her with a cleaner shrimp, alone in my refugium. She has ate all of the feather Caulerpa, which wasnt a lot but it was something...

Treg,
The Red Sea regal angel was in our facility for 21 days before we offered the fish for sale on the site. This fish was maintained in a four-foot aquarium with some smaller rabbitfish, tangs, and a Majestic Angel. The fish was fed Mysis and Julian Sprung's Sea Veggies on a veggie clip.
Regal angels can be finicky sometimes, especially when they are trying to adjust to new surroundings, so please make sure there are plenty of hiding places so the fish feels comfortable and safe in its new environment. If the fish ate Caulerpa macro algae in your fuge, then that is a good sign that the fish is adjusting pretty well. Please keep us informed of the progress of your new addition, and if you have any more questions don’t hesitate to ask. Thank you.

Happy Reefing!

Thanks Kevin.

This is what I have her in.
A 30"x 30" x 12" Refugium section in my sump.

Maybe it isnt large enough or maybe she isnt comfortable being alone.
I wanted to condition her in here and get her eating well before introducing her in the display where she would need to compete for foods.

A good friend recommended a Formalin 3 dip, any opinion on that?

Treg,
Very nice sump/refugium set up. It looks as though this should be sufficient for the Angel, as long as the turnover rate is slow enough for the fish to capture food before it exits the sump. Your rockwork is set up with one overhang, and there is enough swimming space for a short quarantine period. If I could suggest trying to add a few non-threatening fish to the refugium this may do the trick. Once the angel sees these fish eat, chances are that the fish will pick up on that and gain interest.

Aquatronics makes a product called Formalite III, which is Formalin and Malachite green, and is used to treat for Protozoan infections on marine and freshwater fish. If you do not see rapid gill movement, or signs of parasites/protozoan I personally would not stress this fish by netting, moving, dipping, medicating etc. as this will just prolong the fasting period. The goal is to provide the most stress free environment for the fish so it will settle in.

Good luck and keep us up to speed on the progress.

Sincerely,
