Need to catch a fish

Ok well I need to get this maroon clown out of my tank becuase it's to big, and to aggressive to it's other tank mates due to the small size of my tank. So... I need to move her till I can find someone who wants her and I have had the hardest time trying to catch it. I dont want to use a net cuz of the cheek spikes but I cant seem to catch it any other way. Anyone have any ideas? or know where I can get some sort of inexpensive fish trap?

i'd just net it and be careful, i've netted my clowns a couple times w/ no ill effects. If you are desperate i'll take it, tell me when you catch it and i'll come get it. just not today football is on lol. tomorrow for sure.

I have a 65 btw so i think it should be plenty of space, and the only other fish are a sixline and a small bird wrasse

Well at first i did try a net but with no luck...It like she knows its ment for her. She just always sees me coming and darts into the rock work.

yeah clowns are some of the hardest to catch, if you do catch it let me know and i'll take it off your hands. You can try the old gatorade bottle method. cut off the top of the gatorade bottle and invert the top into the cylinder and fasten somehow(aq silicone or crazy glue), so it kinda funnels back into the tube. place its favorite food inside and hope he swims in. I say gatorade because of the wider opening at the end, vitamin water or powerade works as well.

I wouldn't feed the fish except for in the bottle, and leave bottle in tank so the fish get used to it whether it is baited or not leave it there.

Small hook and line. Go to bass pro flyfishing department. The samllest hooks are #24. light monofilament Then go fishing!!

Maroons are very very smart fish, I had the hardest of time to catch my pair, they are extremely hard to catch and trust me I can catch fish!
the way I had to do it is by fishing them, I bought a very small Fly fishing hood at pro bass shops, the hood is so small that you need a special fishing line that is smaller than a hair, I baited the hook with a tiny piece of shrimp and got him in about 30 seconds.
the hook is barb-less so it is easy to remove, you must be prepare with a container ready to place the fish.

LOL, we were writing at the same time :D

I had a damsel i tried to get out the longest time, i was only able to find sabiki rigs. He would go for the bait every time but the hook was just to big. I gotta get those little fly hooks. I got it out when i changed the frag tank. He is now in the sump happy as a pig in the mud. I didn't see him for a couple weeks so i thought it was dead, i should have known better you can't kill those things. I give him a couple pellets and he is just happy to hang in the rocks and chill.

ok i was just able to finally catch it. i used a platic rod to scare it out from where it was hiding and i had my net waiting at the entrence of it's little cave so when it swam out in swam right into the net. so it looks like my aunt really wanted it so if she falls through i'll post it up for you guys to see who wants it. thanks again for all the ideas =)
