Hey, just finished cycling my tank after about 2 months and I just picked up a small convict tang but he's really skinny. I've tried feeding him Dried Green Algae on a clip and he doesn't even take a second look at it. Now I've offered him a frozen cube food that's meant for angels and buttfly fish so it has mysis, brine shrimp, sponge, spinach etc. so when i put that in the tank, he came out and tried eating that, but I know that's not his main diet, so what can I do to get him on Dried Algae?

I just kept putting the dry algae in the tank (though I use one of those blue grid clips from 2LF). First couple of days my tangs ignored it. After a while they figured it out. Now they tear it up. A sheet disappears in an hour or two max.

my desjardini wouldn't touch it on a clip. once i started attaching it to some rock rubble with a rubber band, he and my one-spot go nuts for it.

i would just keep trying it. most new tangs wont touch nori on a clip when first put into a tank. its not normally how they eat, but after a while they learn its food and devour it.

just like after a while when they see you coming they all run to the top of the tank. just give it time
