Need to move some air?

Your title is catchy, lol! I looked at it and was thinking, hmmm...that's should be pretty light, I could handle moving air!

Ron, I bought the 465 cfm version of this fan, and yeah, it'll move alot of air... I calculated that in my daughters roon, hen I put it in the window to help with construction dust, at a 10 x 10 room at 7.5 feet high thats 750 cubic feet. That means that every 1.6 monutes it was turning the air over - or nearly 97 times per hour! Now that I'm done in there, I was going to hook it up in the attic with a draw in the basement to help with the humidity. This whould be perfect for someone looking to move air!

They work really well. Most all of my tanks are in the basement and with all the evaporation going on it would get real damp down there. I have a big dehumidifier running also in the other half of the basement where the movie room is but it gets the room too warm for me. I like to go down there when it is hot outside and with the dehumidifier running getting the room warm I might as well stay upstairs. Since I installed the exhaust blowers I can shut off the dehumidifier, keeping that part of the basement cool and still get rid of the dampness in the basement.
The fan I have extra that is for sale will move 350 CFM with no restrictions according to the info I found. I upgraded to a two speed fan that will move 760 CFM on high and 545 on low speed, it will clear out the whole room in no time.

You know, as I get closer to building the walls, this might not be a bad investment to run once or twice a week to ensure there's no moisture buildup that can rot my wood...

You know, I don't make enough to have a "movie room" downstairs... I have a tv... and those of you who have been to my house would proly agree, that It could be humid down there while sitting on a salt bucket , or swinging in the hammock.

Just kidding Ron, I see plans come accross my counter all the time at the brickyard with movie rooms or media rooms... you just let it slip that your house is a ton bigger than mine...

RCS - Fred. They make a neato switch called a humidistat... you can use it to controll the humidity in your home - and when to turn on a fan... I keep threatening my wife that if she won't turn on the fan when she showers, I'm gonna install one. a 12 minute shower adds alot of moisture to the house. Then she leaves it on other times, and blows perfectly great airconditioned air outside all day... I would flip for the switch, you wont be disappointed.

Don't get it wrong, my "movie room" is far from what you see in the magazines! Sure its nice for what I need but it is not one of those with theater style seating and the like, just a place to kick back sometimes.

Ron, Pm received...I'll let you know in the next few days. We got the first wall framed up last night, so there's some progress being made.

Jason, tell me more about this humidistat thingy. The fan is always turned on during a shower and then off within 10-15 minutes after. I'm mostly concered about the basement. I might just invest in one of those humongoid dehumidifiers that works on the whole house eventually. The upstairs levels stay pretty well, as we keep the AC set to 73 most of the summer, so it's fairly dry. The basement dehumidifier needs to be emptied out every 24 hours or so (65 pint unit).
