I have been to one meeting of CARC, met scapes yesterday who is a member of MRC and posted some in the forums. All of which yielded great info and gaining contacts and making new friends. I am planing on attending the next MRC meet and get get some insight on the beginnings of a reef club. I have tried this before with no response, is there anyone in southest Alabama that would be interested in forming a reef club? please post a reply or pm me. Any saltwater interest welcome.

steagfs I have two people interested here in Enterprise, I guess that's a start. I will talk ti them and maybe we can come up with a time and place to meet.
gflat look foward to meeting you I am going to pm you in the next day or two.

If no one is willing to host, in Nashville, we met at restaurants in the beginning (then moved over to a LFS once they closed).

Hi guys I’m located in Dothan and I work on base. I know a few guys in the area that might be interested. I’m sure Eddie at Bill’s Pet Store will help spread the word. I’m not sure if he is on the forum or not.

I have about three friends that have started back into it and I know 3 or 4 that have been in it a while. I’m not sure if they talk on any of the forums. One of the is supposed to be sending me his cabinet guys info. I try to find out asap…

we need to come up with a date and plece to meet, i think we need to meet at a resturaunt first time. But be thinking about a name for the club. any dates preferable? pm me if you want me to call and I will contact you.

I got my Febuary 2009 Aquarium Fish magazine today it has a great article about getting your lfs to support your aquarium society.

By the way hershell did you get a chance to talk to Eddie?

No, I haven't made time to go by there. I'm a little aggravated with them. I asked Eddie to get me a price on a 170 cube tanks, stand and hood. Well after waiting 2 weeks and not hearing anything I bought a 360. I called everyday for a week and then I gave up. I'm not going to beg someone to let me spend a 1000 dollars. I'm not mad at them, I'm sure I'll end up buying some fish or something from them when I get it set up.

Guys we need to get together, I will start to get some dates and places and post them soon we will see if we can get as many people together as possible. Sorry I have not done anything with this, Ihave been dealing with some family health issues and was in the hospital this week myself but hoping that all of us can stay healthy now.

I hope you make this club happen. You can do it! We need more "local" clubs down here in the Southeast.

I'm a founding member of the Florida Panhandle Reefkeepers Society. We used to be very active here on RC, but most of our online activity now takes place on our club's website. Last time I checked, there were over 300 users on our website.

Anyway, we 1st met last year in someone's dining room and there were 8 of us there. Now our members range from Mobile Alabama, over to Tallahassee Florida and we even have a member up in Andaleusia (spelling?), Al. Due to this, we meet in different towns, so that members don't have to travel too far. Perhaps you can attend our next meeting and do a little networking. I suspect some of our members would also benefit from your club.

If there is anything we can do to help you, feel free to ask. Forming a club offers many benefits (financial, informational,
social and so forth). Well worth the effort...but you'll need a dedicated core group to kickstart things.

Best of Luck!

Good morning everyone! Would the 28th march be a good day for everyone to meet so we can get started on this, if so we need to decide on a place. Either leave a post or PM me.
