Need URGENT HELP PLEASE!!!!!

Guys i need help to put my tank on the stand. the tank is a 225g glass. i tried to put it on last night with some of my friends but they were to short. the stand is 43 inches tall. The reason its so urgent i just got the stand yesterday and my last day at my old place is the 16th and i need to have my tank broken down before that.

the location is in Bellflower right off the 91fwy on Lakewood Blvd zip is 90706

i will have pizza and soda/beer. Also if you need gas money that will also be given just let me know. I know people work during the weekday so i was wondering if any one in the area can give me a hand around 7-8 pm time frame. My cell number is 310-619-9171 Rob

Or you can Pm me but i might miss it because im making about 3 runs to corona del mar to get about 400g of salt water all day this morning.

So please guys if you can spare an Hr of your time it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I might be able to help you Rob. What day do you have in mind? Also how many people did you have helping you the first time?

Is it just a matter of lifting the tank and setting it on the stand or does it need to be moved from one house to another?

I think rob just needs someone to help him lift the tank on the stand. Goliath's friends were all short. lol

*No moving from 1 house to another.

I'll check with the BF and will text if we can make it tonight :]

He's 6'3" :D (and incredibly sexy, so..hands off) haha

oops cant delete 1 year old finger mashing wish we could help but we are far away!!

Hey guys i just got back home. I did to trips to Corona del Mar. I was able to bring back 200g of Salt Water.

The tank is already at the new house. its just a matter of lifting it on the stand. Its actually cool if your short as long as there is some extra hands to helt guide. the tank weight is about 500 so between 5-6 people its a whole lot less.

This is a great chance to meet some local reefers too. Also if you can give me some tips for plumbing. Ill order some pizza hut and have some coronas ready for the people that come by.

For the people that Pmed me your numbers ill give you a call by 5pm to make sure its a go. would not want you to drive here and not have enought people to lift it.

Thanks for all those who have answered.

PS: The location is Clark St and its right off the 91 fwy on Lakewood Blvd. And the Date is TONIGHT 7-8PM

All Pmes replied.

Jose its going to be tonight around 7-8 pm. Ill call everyone around 5:30PM and get correct time but the time window is 7-8pm

Also Let me know when you get your tank ill be more than happy to help you load that monster. I saw your stand when i picked up mine. makes mine look so tiny :D

Rob, 5 or 6 guys are perfect to move your tank (can be done with 4 or 5) but more make it no work. I did the same thing with the exact size tank, but had to go up one stair before setting on a 40" stand:

As you can see, most of us are 5'10 to 6'2" and can lift the tank up fine to clear the stand.

Cool i remember seing those on your Blog. Did you screw the wood into the metal stand? or did you just place the wood then the foam then tank?

The wood is screwed to the stand, but only in about 6 or 8 places, the foam is just sitting between the wood and the tank.

Word to the wise, watch your fingers! Set the tank down a bit off center of the stand and then spin the tank square.

wow ok im out to go buy some screw. just any type of screw right? or does it have to be rated to go thru steel? My steel is 2inch thick so im gussing a 1.5 to 2 inch long screw. the wood is 3/4 inch Birch.

I used Metal screws as the thread is a bit different, just pre drill and counter sink to make it easy. While I don't know if its necessary, it gave me piece of mind that it won't slip, not that the Linex wouldn't grip the heck out of it anyways!

but it does make sense to screw it. Im headed out to home depot to get some screws right now. ill do it before any one gets there to help lift the tank.

Thanks Ken.
