Needles

So I have a couple of Aiptasia present. I tired taking the piece of rock out its self and burn the buggers off but they seem to come back. I was gonna try the hypodermic needle approach. Is it possible to go to a drug store and get a needle.

i dont think so. they will probably think your a junky if you go in there asking for needles

Oh come on. Where do diabetics get needles for their insulin? I haven't done it, but there has to be some place you can buy a syringe without being suspected as a junkie.

I got one along with a bottle of Aiptasia-X that I bought. That stuff worked well, but, in the end, kalkwasser paste works pretty much just as well.

Not sure on the status of actual sharp needles, but blunt tip needles are available in tons of places (smallparts, mcmaster, hardware stores, etc).

Go to the pharmacy at Wal-Mart and you can buy the needle and syringe for about 25 cents a piece. They do not ask for a prescription like Walgreens or CVS.

if you have a store around you that deals with cattle, farm animals you can buy them from there. thats where I get mine

Most major chain drug stores wont sell them without a prescription. I found a hometown drug store who sold me a few.

Get more than you think you will need. They dont last long.

The pharmacist refused to give me a syringe. He looked at me like I was a crazy person when I explained I was only trying to dump a measurable amount of vodka into an aquarium. I ended up getting one from my LFS.

if you can't get your hands on one, as implied you don't need an actual needle to rid yourself of aiptasia. Squirting the solution on the anemone with a blunt syringe (such as those that come with various test kits) works almost as well.

just explain to the pharmacist what your needing it for you should be fine, well unless you look like a meth head

Ha ya I went to Wegmans last night and i explained to the lady that i had a salt water tank and and this might sound weird but i need a hypodermic needle

Glad to see Wal-Mart is so helpful. They are happy to take the money no matter the cause....Exactly why I don't shop walmart:hammer:
