Nem help

Any advice to help out this anemone. He doesn't move and has looked like this for long time. My other anemone died, unsure of cause. I do not have a par meter to know light strength where nem is at. The other nem moved under a rock near sand then died under rock.

i'm sorry i can't help with the answer but i suggest adding some details about your tank (water parameters, salinity, age of system... and so on)

1.025 salt mag is in range on law side. Same as Calc. Alk is slightly high. PH is low. Heat around 80. Tank is 6 months aprox.

Your anemone is bleached and needs to be fed a few Mysis shrimp every 2 or 3 days. Do not over feed it, and most of all let it go where it wants as well as keep your parameters stable. It looks healthy with the exception of being bleached. It would not hurt if you took the clown away from it but I don't think it's necessary unless your clown is pretty harsh with it

Exactly this

Thanks guys...I had some medical infusions today...didn't get a chance to feed since I was gone. Tomorrow I will be sure to spot feed some mysis.

What devices or tricks do you guys do to feed your nems?

I bought a julians thing but i haven't set it up yet. I also have some super long turkey basters that brs had on a deal of the day....forgot brand...

also is it always mysis....and is it only temporary until condition improves...

whats the normal regime for a nem like my size and type?

thank you

Using a turkey baster or your thing is fine to give them the Mysis. Like I said feed your nem a few every 2 or 3 days. You can also feed a mix of frozen like LRS just give it a small amount about equal to a pencil eraser. You can even feed them fresh raw fish like salmon or a small piece of fresh shrimp. Sure you will buy frozen just make sure there's no additives in whatever you buy. Just keep the pieces small like a pencil eraser and no more than that every 2 or 3 days.

Once the color returns you no longer have to feed it, but while it's bleached you do. Also go to the Anemone and clown forum and read all you can on BTA's. Do a search here and start reading.

Got the mysis and fed him today. Will be ready for the next feeding on Sunday. He enclosed himself around the food. I turned off the powerheads to ensure it falls in the tentacles/mouth area.

Thanks. I'm feeling better today. Will be doing more reading on the anemone.
