nem id please?

i took the new small gig out last night and put it into a 5g ht with tank water medicated with cipro. i haven't seen it deflated since i put it in the ht, and i have been checking every couple hours. i'm home healing from surgery, and a little ocd with my tanks. lol

it was actually puffed up nicely until i took the light off and turned the flow off to take this pic. gives you a little idea though.

i did a 50% wc tonight with fresh medicated water right before lights went out. i'll keep it in there for a week, continue treating, and monitor...

Looks very strange -- inflated disk but deflated tentacles.

I had one that looked like this. Unfortunately, it never responded to treatment and died after 3 months, which is odd -- typically they die after a month. This one held on for a long time but slowly withered away. It never fully inflated and never looked healthy.

Gig on the left... (the one on the right ended up dying too)

d-nak, sorry to hear that. i hope that is not the case with this one. time will tell i suppose.

mine actually looked a lot more inflated, until i turned off the light and powerhead to take a pic. i took a quick pic this morning, and this is how it looks....

did you keep them in the ht the entire time?

it is so strange that they are lost and whither away after so long. i have a couple dozen different bubble tip anemones. i have had some new imports that fade away with time, and they were in the same tank as ones that are still thriving. maybe they have internal damage from shipping and just never recover. sometimes i wonder if it's just environmental. maybe some thrive in certain conditions and others will not. maybe water temp, amount of light, parameter levels, ect... it just stands to reason that those vary in different areas. i'm not sure... might be similar in gigs as well.
