Nemateleotris magnifica female up-the-duff

My female firefish is huge,,, I've had the pair in my 75g for at least 2 years and I always suspected they were breeding because every couple of weeks, one of them (the male I assume) goes missing for 3 or 4 days. I really don't pay much attention to them,, I have no idea how/when the eggs hatch,, they live in a cave under the largest and least-movable rock in the tank.

Anyone here tackled these guys before? Do they need SS rotifers?

Juck, I have a piar myself and although I suspect they are breeding I've never found any larvae or eggs. Both are fat, healthy, and over the past few months RARELY venture out into the open.

I read somewhere that supposedly the male digs a hole OUTSIDE their "bolt hole" and THAT is where the eggs are deposited but I've found more accounts to the contrary (that they lay the eggs in their hole). Beyond that...?

Thanks Matt,,, I too have only found conflicting reports on the web. I just caught a pic of her waddling around the tank after some cyclop-eze,,,,,, seen head-on she looks even fatter.

I'll keep an eye on her,,, maybe I'll build one of those larval snagger doobrys.

Now I look at the pic,,, I think maybe there's a bit of an ovipositor poking out perhaps?
