i have a clown from petco, so although it was labeled percula, im sure it is a ocelaris. ive had it with fire fish and a coral beauty (no other clowns) for about 1.5 years, in my reef tank it's about 2" long and does not host anything (no anenomes in the tank).
So I assume that makes nemo a female.

I am removing a few of my other fish (it's a 37 galllon oceanic)
and a friend of mine who is tired of fishkeeping advised he had 3 nemos from the local fs together for years.
recently one died and now he has a large one and a much smaller one.
--
I planned on adding both to my tank.
Any thoughts on compatability, would that mean i would have 2 femaes and a male ?

You'll have one male, one female and one dead female most likely. Putting two females together is a recipe for disaster.

Your should not have more than two clownfish in a 37 gallon. I agree, you will have at least one dead fish, maybe more, depends on how bad their injuries are.

so what do i have now a female?
if so can i just add his smaller fish
Your fish is a female and the others are probably a male/female pair.

If you want them, the ones you keep should be from the other tank and you should remove your current one.

Clownfish sexual dimorphism in action.

Yours is not necessarily a female, especially at two inches. Being alone does not mean definitely becoming female in that time, but it is more likely to become one than if with another female.

That being said, it will still probably be left out...best to keep the ones together exactly that way: together. I agree that yours should be taken out to put those two in...
