Nems in the dark

Ok I have two anemones in my 75. One LTA and the other is unknown. Possibly a Sebae.

Both were doing fine until I put my powerheads on a wavetimer and the next day fed them for the first time since Ive had them. That night they both picked up and moved into the back of my tank in a cave and under rocks in the dark and have been there for about three weeks now.

The powerheads weren't blowing directly on them. As far as I could see it was just nice gentle flow in the areas they were in. Lights were 4x T5s, recently upgraded to dual 250 MHs. All params are looking good.

Im worried about them staying in the dark until they die. Any ideas?

They should be ok, assuming the rest of your tank parameters are still good. Anytime their environmental conditions (light, food, food, flow, etc) change, there is a possibility for them to readjust themselves. If they were healthy to start with, they still should be find for a few days. What are your tank parameters? Pics?

Switching from 4 T5s to two 250 MH is a pretty significant change. Did you shade the tank when you made this change? How's the other corals doing when this change was made?

I dont have any current pics right now. My camera cant seem to take any pictures in focus. Cant get a new one for a couple weeks. The nems themselves look pretty healthy, just not completely blowm up like they were under the lights.

I didnt shade it but they are handing about 10 inches above the water right now and running a shorter schedule. The bulbs are also about 9 months old. Its a used set up.

The nems ran off about 2 weeks before the light upgrade so thats not the problem but the rest of my corals are in heaven. The few SPS I have are extending their polyps much more than I have ever seen. My rhodacics, rics and zoas are blowing up about twice their previous size after only a week.

It could have been the initial change in flow that made them move in the first place, and agree, that is a substantial increase in light.
My LTA's did not like really heavy light.
I always placed mine by a ledge, so they could tuck in or stretch out as needed.
Screen acclimation would have been my choice on the lights.
