i have what looks like 2 baby bta's they are deffinately some type of nem but they just appeared in my tank and they are tiny the small is only like a quarter of an inch tall and the larger one is only about half an inch tall but all the tentacles have what looks like bubbles on the tips they are growing on live rock that was in a tank with about 25 bta's and they have been in there for about 5 years is it possible for themto mate or spawn? i have been making sure they are under bright lighting and good water flow and they seem to like marine snow any hints or is this even possible?

bta's split...they do not mate. pictures might help in determining what this could be.

... actually bta's do spawn

eventually, they could sting and maybe kill small fish. that's what I've read. I've seen them 2-3" across with tentacles. easy enough to kill when you catch them early. I've had good luck with the aptasia control products. Also had some luck with a peppermint shrimp, though they can bother corals. mine has not and ate a few aptasia that I couldn't get to to kill. good luck.
