I love these little guys, they are just so fun to watch. My 16 reef sounds adequate for a pair but would my baby perc harrass them, i may also eventually get somesort of pygmy angel or wrasse, any input would be great.
A pair would do great in that little tank! (and would also breed in there) but 3 would fight!
Though i think it would be a little small for any angels and most wrasse would get quite aggressive being that cramped!
Personally i would add the gobies and a mate for your perc and call it a day! Or (though it may be pushing it) add a pistol shrimp/goby pair aswell.
Doesnt sound much, but that is a lot to watch in a small tank.
I want Neon Gobies too... but I have heard they live only 2 years! This makes me not want to get them because I wont want to loose them! I dont think the percs will harass them... I planned on having 2 Neon gobies with my 2 ocellaris clowns. But I'm also in the same boat as you.. I'm trying to find some cool small fish to keep in my 20 gallon Long... I probably will go with the gobies... they arent very expensive so that is good. What kind of wrasse were you thinking about? I like the Six Line.. they are pretty and small.
Clowns are great for the small tanks because they never venture far from there host, so dont need the swimming space.
Try and think of fish that are simular and don't swim quite so much. A sixline wrasse would get VERy aggressive in such a confined tank.
'Rock hopping' type fish are ideal.
really? oh geez i thought they were just small grazing type fish... that like lots of rock work. i didnt know about the aggressive part. I have a 20 G long and my clowns are EVERYWHERE... in and outta the rock work... and at the moment Im lookin at the tank and the bicolor blenny is coming out of his hole and going after the female clown.. its pretty hilariuos
