Neon green bta?

Hi guys. I got a bta yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find a porcelain crab hidden in it. I originally planned to get a clown fish since i've always wanted an anemone/clown fish combo but now i'm not sure since the crab's there. Will the clown and crab share? I was told that it's a neon green bta and that it's not bleached. It's mostly white (slight pink shade) with light green tips. Is it really an neon green bta or did i buy a bleached one? I did a search and could not find anything on neon green bta. The second picture was taken about 20 minutes after it was added to the tank; it bubbled up nicely :)

most likely will darken with some green/brown, can you tell what color the base is? it's hard to see

guess it depends on the individual clown. i would think a clown that is single would be more apt to share, but no guarantee. a pair of clowns, no way. they are territorial little guys when paired. its probably going to be one of those "try it and see" things. my money would be on the crab getting the boot. at my LFS the clowns keep the porcelain crabs out of their host. they are true percs and host a rbta. there are enough rbta clones for the crabs to have their own tho they stay out of the clowns.

pair of nice specimens, btw. make sure to feed that nem he should color up nicley.

Update: I fed the anemone a piece of shrimp today; the crab was driving me nut trying to grab the food out of the anemone's mouth. I also picked up a maroon clown; I sorta expected the crab and maroon to fight over the anemone but they never even show aggression toward each other. The yellow bellied damsel, however, was extremely hostile; it launched an immediate attack on the clown as soon as the clown hit the water. Things seem to be better today, the damsel is leaving the clown alone for the most part and the crab and clown are sharing the anemone. Here are some pics:

Great Pictures... Keep us updated.... Is that a gold stripe maroon? ...

Thanks! I think it's just a regular maroon clown with two yellow stripes on the head (which I didn't notice until I look at the photos). His/her fins are starting to heal and the damsel is no longer attacking it.

The anemone is, indeed, bleached. Not horribly, but it should darken up quite a but with proper care and lighting.

Your nem is not bleached. There are BTAs that are neon green through out, but yours just has green tips. I have one identical to that. I bought it like that and i has remained like that. Mine also has a bright pink base. If it was bleaching out the base would also be bleached so if yours still has its pink foot and green tips i believe that it is doing just fine. My friend at the lfs who knows more about marine life than anyone i've ever met told me that they get nems like this occasionally and they r perfectly healthy just a color variant. You will see for yourself the longer u have it. A bleached nem means a dying nem and after u've had it for months and its still perfectly healthy you will realize that its just a different color.

I'm so excited for you...because I've lost an anemene and a flowerpot coral with my paired allardi clowns....when the nem died they went to the coral....which was hard enough to keep well. I'm picking up a new BTA tonight, which is big enough to host the two of them, i"m told.. can't wait !
what is the best thing to feed a BTA anyway ??
