I just got a new carpet anemone today...its oral disk is currently the size of a silver dollar? Is that normal when placed in a new a new tank?

Depends on how new. They do perfer more established tanks. I would turn the lights out and reduce the time for a few days. He should expand and cruise around to find a sutible spot.

What exactly do you mean by the oral disc? Are you saying that the mouth is is open that much?

Is this for your 24 gallon or 34 gallon? However, both of those are going to be too small for an S. haddoni -- can easily get 20+ inches across.

Sorry it said whene its placed in a new tank. You mean relocated from another tank. Assuming your tank is in good running order and you accumulated it before you added then you should be fine. Reduceing the light will help especially if your lights are more power full.

The tank is a 75 gallon.
