How do I reset the memory? This sounds dangerous. My luck I'll end up with a blank Apex.

You need to get into your router. Typically that is achieved by entering 192.168.1.1 in a web browser. From there you need to find the IP address your router assigned to it. Like 192.168.1.4 for example. Make this a static address. Then point forward it to a port, pick a number. Say 1050 for example. Then you can enter 192.168.1.4:1050 in a web browser and should be able to access the interface. You can make all of the changes there, update firmware, turn on fusion, etc.

Bower, you're getting some bad advice here and some good advice on the Neptune forums. Suggest you concentrate your efforts there.

If you know how to solve the issue why not post here for others to see.

I'm pretty sure the advice I gave here is the similar to what he got over there. Although I'm not familiar with setting an Apex up on a Mac, I'm sure it's similar. Ultimately you have to get your port forwarding right on both the router and Apex brain.

Sorry, just came across a little insulting. Especially when you haven't offered to help.

I can't get into my router like that. It's a Time Capsule. That didn't work. Can't I see what the IP is right on the Apex display? Someone from Neptune just contacted me and I did the steps they asked to no avail.
Thanks anyhow.

I have a Mac and haven't had any trouble setting up any of my Apex computers. As others have stated. You need to access it via a web browser first. PM inbound

To get your ip info off your Mac:

1. Click on the apple icon in top left corner of screen

2. Click on system preferences

3. Click on Network

4. Select the adapter you are using. Should be highlighted by default.

5. Click advanced

6. Click tcp/ip in the bar. Now your network info will be displayed.

Have you downloaded apex flash? You need this to do updates. Have you gone into main menu?
Hi Ray,

Thank you for your inquiry. We would be happy to assist you. There are few things that would case that to read down. One of those few things is network configuration. Let's look at that first.

Ensure a couple of small things first like the Ethernet cable is plugged into your Apex and the other end is plugged into your home WIFI router. The Apex should have a 'Green' and 'Orange' light where you plug the Ethernet cable into the Apex. The Apex should also have a 'Green' status light on the top.

If those are fine plug your Apex into your home router and follow these steps below.

Check to make sure DHCP is enabled on your controller and restart the controller
On your Apex Display screen: System> Netsetup> DHCP> On
In the same menu look for 'Restart' and click on it. This will cause your display to go blank. Wait for it to finish and return.
When the screen returns go to System> Apex Fusion: Link/ Down.
If it says 'Link' than click on it. If it say's down wait a few minutes and if you already had it connected prior it will say 'OK'. If not, try to reboot again if it doesn't switch to 'Link'.

Yes yes did all that.

They set up a phone call for 12:30 today and it's now 1:16 with no phone call. Great customer service so far. Time is money and they are wasting both of mine.

If you have any buddy or acquaintance good with computers or networking, have them assist. They'll have you connected in short order.

If you want to give it a go yourself:

Download the latest Comprehensive Reference Manual Oct 2014 from the Apex website. Then go to page #26 and give the Network Setup a shot. Definitely get it going in the Classic Method before connecting via Fusion.

Thanks for all the help people but after 2 hours of help from Neptune, it must be a bad unit. Just my luck. So they are sending me out a new one. Tried everything about 30 times with no luck.

It happens. Hard to say whose fault too. The UPS man could have been tossing it around all day. Who knows. Good luck. At least when you get the new unit you will know exactly what to do.

Well finally got the new controller from Neptune. Hooked it up exactly the same way I did the first one and all is peachy. I haven't tried to do the software update yet as I'm scared... lol Now to just figure out this programing language Neptune uses to set up the outlets. I'm glad BRS did some setup videos.

Well the first attempt to update the software didn't work. But I tired it again and it did work. Still don't like the process and what you have to go through to do a software update. Hopefully I will not have to do it again for a while. I'm sure I'll like my Apex once I get the bugs worked out and I understand how to use it. But again, wish it was easier.
