Neptune DOS for auto water change question

I travel some for work and I think I would be best off to do small water changes every day. I have ordered a Neptune DOS to help with water changes. I plan to use a trash can to hold the NSW. I will put a power head in it and cycle it every few hours to keep things mixed up. I am thinking I don't need a heater because it will be small amounts throughout the day and the container is at room temperature.

I have a float valve that stops my RO/DI water feeding the container. So here is my question. I don't want to put a hole in the water container below the water line. I plan to drill above the water line and use a connector that can accept a plastic water line on both sides. Inside the container I'll drop a 1/4" water line to near the bottom of the container. The DOS will I think be below the mid point of the container. Will it pull water from the container?

Yes, My DOS in mounted in my stand, 55 gallon of NSW in basement about 10 feet below. Works great!
As a side note, you don't have to heat or mix the NSW. I mix mine in a separate 55 gallon, then pump it over to the other holding tank.

Thanks so much I figured it would. That is a good thought on a separate mixing tank. I'm going to try it with just one tank for a while.
