New 10'-575g Starfire Reef Build

Great pictures of the build... We get to see a dream tank come together, with none of the work... Keep busy were in a hurry to see the finished project...

No slacking now.

Toasty? My parents live on the Pamlico and with a cross-wind it is unbearable (to me anyway). I would imagine that a very reliable chiller, ground loop combo would be called for, plus backup power.

its starting to look like it i imagined it. JKA Sabreman0001! nice work, keepin it neat always helps keep the wife happy too! :)
JDM

Wow!!!!!Nice tank. I have just started making my wall for my wall tank. Whew a lot of work. I cant wait to see your progress. You already have some niceeeee rock...Sweet.. ANy pics of your fo tank?

I just put some mud on mine. Not too bad. I used the green board it was only a couple dollars more. Are you going to insulate?

The way that I am building, the tank will be in the house, the walls that I am putting up are an extension of the hallway so I can get around 9' viewable on the second side of the tank...I have not started to build out the tank yet.... I will be using green board around my sink and the wall that the sump/fuge/prop tanks are on.

Here is a rough layout of what the tank setup will look like....

love all the QT stuff. That's going to be very helpful especially over the first year or two when you are bringing in multpile specimens.

that's going to be nice 10' long with tons of real estates, not to mention external overflows. I went with tradewinds 18,000 BTU 1.5hp, which is the same brand unit I have for my home. currently my unit comes on 2 times a day and 3 deg difference keeping my water temp 79-80 that's with total 6 pumps not to mention a large skimmer. how much room will you have with the doors open front of display and the height of display? oh did I leave out plumbing, pvc cement and don't forget the face mask. very impressive build and keep things rockin' with pics.

face mask? not following you on that one...from the dining room, there will be no doors...the canopy will appear to be part of the wall and will be powered by linear actuators, so at a push of a button it will go up and give me 30" of clearance to work with....the lights will also go for the ride, so...I truly will have 30" of clearance.....from the otherside, there will be 3 doors to access and feed from.....

pvc cememt give off so much fumes, i know after all the plumbing i did. nice touch on linear actuators as i did the same.

Here are some new pics....the header is in...and the hallway is extended, I am currently working on the garage to get my sink back in place...hopefully that will be done by the end of next weekend...
