New 14K bulb coming Wed. Got Question

Seeing as tho I'm new to MH lightinging I was wondering when I get my new 14K plus rite bulb should I shorten my MH time and bring it back up slowly or just put in the new bulb they are both the same wattage 175W only difference is the color temp. 14K vs current 20K.

soposed to actually lift them up a little higher then gradually lower them down so the intensity isnt so hard at first. it doenst have anything to do with the K rating (well not a whole lot anyways) but more the fact of just being a new bulb and being brighter.

I've toasted some corals when i switched bulbs once. You could keep them higher up and lower them as Sea Hunter explains or you could use a couple sheets of black screen over the tank and remove them over a couple of weeks.

Thanks Something told me not to just swap bulbs, I'll have to figure out a way to use screen lifting my bulb just isn't feasable, if that won't work I'll lower the lighting time. Ijust hope the bulb looks as good with my balst as it does on Gary's tank.
