New 220 gallon build

I hope you have a safe trip. One person created a binder with instructions for his wife about what to do if... each section was divided with tabs to help her find what she needed quickly.

Kurt be safe on your trip. if your wife runs into problems, she or Chris can always come on line for some help. If need be she can feel free to pm me and I 'll help in any way I can including stopping by.

Well, I have not seen my tank in over a month...need to get logged in more often to see how its going (check up with people watching it...)

Busy dodging mortars and rockets, a bit more dangerous here in Baghdad than I thought it would be.

Did manage to get out a couple days.

My wife tells me the tank is doing "OK" and that OldImpala gave it a clean bill of health last week so not too worried.

Being away from it for 6 months the growth of corals will hopefully be evident when I get home.

Just think of the extra cash you'll be making by eating MREs everyday!! More money for coral and fish when you get home!!

I have been in Baghdad for a couple months now and my wife is reporting some issues with the tank. Some things she said were disheartening...like "you did not leave any directions" which I did with my 12yr old son...and when I asked when she noticed some tissue recession on some corals "Today, I have not really looked at anything for a few weeks"

Anyway, hopefully with the help of a couple RC members and one that apparently has been "moved on" we can get the system back on track.

So you guys dont forget what I look like:

:-( we dont have many Basements in AZ, something about the ground being too hard or something, you guys make me jealous

I hate that. My son lives with me and walks past my tank 10 or more times a day and will be completely oblivious. Seriously, doesn't even notice if it is running, if the animals are okay, etc.

Let's hope your tank is in better shape than the phone call indicated.

That picture has 3 different men in the shot. Are they all called Kurt? ;)

Too funny about the pic.

I hope the tank is okay too. If it's rough you'll get it back in shape for sure.

Looks like his name tag got smudged. I fixed it for you bud :)

That's really funny!!

Yeah, had to smudge the name tag...not allowed to have people know what they look like (thanks for fixing it)...

It bites being this far away knowing something is happening...and even more so that it is beign ignored by people right there (Wife, kids)

Yeah, I made it home...still look kind of shaggy but the beard is gone. the 2 year old did not recognize me with it so we shaved it off.

Tank is getting better each day, it was in decent shape upon arrival.

Losses include 3 or 4 Acans, Scoly, open brain, three acros, 3 Bartletts Anthias.

Sorry about the losses but glad you made it back in one piece.

Many things look well, any idea what brought about the losses?

The Acans were burried in the sand except one large one, no ryme or reason for it to die from what my wife described. She is watching me type this and says that Chris mentioned the Alk was way off when he first stopped by.

The Acro's fell into an area with no light, under and behind the rockwork. I think the Scoly and open brain succumbed to sand burial also, but not sure.

Also lost every frag in the 300g tub due to algae growth.
