New 220 gallon build

Thanks all.

Kent now owns that Elegance, his buddy Dan stopped by yesterday to pick it up...he can verify the Lebowski :)

I removed the 75g 'refuge' today, putting 5g of the sand into the 300g tub as a DSB. I am also going to plumb the skimmer to one of the overflows, taking a break now because I need to run to the hardware store.

Will post some 'after' photos, its going to be much neater looking in that area of the cellar.

Finished with the new plumbing of the overflow to power the skimmer. Thought perhaps the line going from a 1" line to a 3/4" line it would require an additional outlet so I installed a "Y"

but it apparently does not as I ended up with all the water flowing out of the fork that feeds the skimmer.

Those who saw my basement with the 75g installed it was very cramped looking and made it awkward to get around the sump. This is how it looks now.

Here is how I set up the DSB for now, simply water flow over the top of the bucket. Not sure if that water flow will produce the same effect and need to look at moving it a bit so it gets a bit more flow traveling over it.

All of these were taken with the nikon D3, 50mm f/1.4 and the light provided by the window plus two 100w PC bulbs

Since I had the camera out...why not take some other shots.

It was cool before and now it's even better.

Yes, next project is to 'clean up' some of the electrical wiring.

The upside down arm jug is just that. Its ARM, I have a hole cut into the bottom of the jug and then a air tube coming out the neck. The effluent from my CA reactor goes into the ARM providing a bit more breakdown and supposidly raising the PH prior to it hitting the tank. So a bit more breakdown of ARM and less effect on the PH balance of the tank. It seems to work pretty well in keeping my PH around 8.1
