New 30 gallon rimless build for my office

After getting my son's 60 gallon tank established and learning a ton about this hobby, I have decided it's time for a tank of my own. One that I can look on and enjoy while at the office. Here is my list of what I have bought/am buying:

Tank - JBJ 30 gallon rimless
Lights - Can't decide on Kessil A350W or Ocean Revive T247. Kessil will look cleaner with goose-neck. Just bough 2 T247 for my son and they look great.
Wavemaker - MP10
Heater - EHEIM Jager 150W
Filtration - 25 lb dry rock and 20 lbs of sand.
Filtration (Overflow 1) InTank media basket with floss, ChemiPure Elite and a small refugium
Filtration (Overflow 2) - Stock filtration but will most likely upgrade to a Hydor Slim-Skim nano (will this fit??)

Planning on being a mixed reef with LPS/SPS.

Would love to hear suggestions.

I have the same tank with a kessil a360we and that light is amazing the shimmer is unreal. I have the hob-1 skimmer which is nice so I don't loose one of the chambers

I thought about HOB but was worried about a possible leak. Would you mind posting a pic of yours?

Well it arrived before Christmas after all. UPS was delayed but it just arrived and after boxing appears to be in perfect condition. Props to TB Aquatics for the double boxing and very fast shipping.

Also from the reviews I've read, it looks like many run these with just the two included powerhead/pumps and don't need to add any others. Anyone have any success with just the two included pumps??

Ok attempt 1 at my new aquascape. I really like this layout. I have a couple extra pieces I'll break into rubble to fill in some gaps and try to make it look more seamless. I think it gives lots of options for coral placement and still has enough negative space. Thoughts?? Suggestions?

I have a 20 lb. bag of Caribsea pink Fiji sand. I was just setting up the rock on a piece of cardboard that is the dimentions of my display. I won't be going back to work until 1/4 so can't set the tank up until then. I was pretty happy with that look actually. I tagged the rocks with labels so I can remember the positions next week:

I would look at a radion xr15, I have a kessil and just tried out the radion and I like it much better then my kessil. As far as the skimmer I have heard good things about the cadlights nano skimmer. But you can always take a tape measure out and measure the chamber if it will fit your specified chamber LxWxH.

So no liverock at all? I have never been blown away by Carib sea live sand. I still seed it with as much sand from other systems I can get my hands on. I'd look into adding a few pounds of liverock as well.

Yeah I plan on snagging a few lbs of of rock from the sump of my sons tank. Should help the cycle and has some nice purple coraline on it to propegate to the rest of my rocks. We used the Caribsea on my sons tank and it seemed fine. I'll check out the Radion xr15 as well. Thanks.

Coraline will grow with or without liverock, it all depends on water parameters. It works, better then dry sand. Liverock will help cycle the tank faster then all dry rock. But from what I've seen from my recent tank build vs previous build using live sand from other tanks. I would snag a cup full of seeded sand from your sons tank or any other established tank you can get your hands on, it will help! Good luck with the build

So I just ordered the Ocean Revive T247 LED. They look great over my son's 48" tank and 1 should be perfect for my 30 gallon which is 23" wide. I can mount a closet type pole/shelf to the wall about 12" wide to hang this from. Should look nice and clean. For only $148 I can always upgrade later if I want without feeling like I wasted a lot of $$. Leaves me extra money now for an InTank media basket and possibly a skimmer, although I'll order the skimmer a little later after I get a better feel for the tank's filtering compartments.

Thanks man...can't wait to get into the office to get this going and start getting some progress pics up. Also will be lurking in the forums for anyone selling an Apex Jr. to add. With this tank not being in my home I want to be able to monitor it.

Jandawil, who makes the Ocean Revive Led?

Ocean Revive is the company as far as I can tell. I got the T247. They used to have a sponsor forum page here but it's no longer there which is weird. Very nice fixture though and from what I've seen their customer service is very good as well. For $148 shipped you can't beat it.
